State of the Union

President Obama will deliver the State of the Union Address on Wednesday, January 27th at 9:00PM ET. 
ABC News Radio will provide the following extensive coverage:


At 8:06PM ET, ABC News Radio will provide a special One Hour program titled, “Preview to the State of the Union.” This one hour program will focus on the Obama Administration’s first year in office and the challenges that lie ahead.

ABC News Radio's Aaron Katersky will anchor our One Hour Special along with ABC's Ann Compton at the White House , ABC News Radio's Vic Ratner on Capitol Hill and ABC News Radio Political Analyst Steve Roberts.

Preview to the State of the Union” will be fed LIVE on ABC 51 from 8:06PM Et until 8:58:50PM ET.

ABC News Radio will provide LIVE ANCHORED COVERAGE of the STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS beginning at 9:00PM ET (HARD START TIME).

AT 9:06PM ET, ABC News Radio will offer an OPTIONAL JOIN to our coverage.

ABC's Aaron Katersky will anchor our coverage along with ABC'sAnn Compton at the White House , ABC's Vic Ratner on Capitol Hill and ABC News Radio Political Analyst Steve Roberts.

Following the conclusion of President Obama’s address, we will provide a :30 second wrap up and an optional cutaway.

The cutaway will be:

"I’M AARON KATERSKY AND YOU ARE LISTENING TO LIVE COVERAGE OF THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS FROM ABC NEWS."

We will remain on the air for the Republican response by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, which will be delivered approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of the President’s speech.

We will provide analysis between both speeches.

We believe President Obama's speech will run approximately one hour, followed by a 10-minute break and then the Republican Response, which should run under 10 minutes. We will stay on the air straight through and expect to be on for around 90 minutes.

Live Anchored Coverage will be fed on ABC 51.


Live Unanchored Audio will be fed on ABC 53.


Wednesday, January 27th
We will also provide status reports TWICE hour from 8:00:30PM ET - 11:30:30PM ET.

Status Reports will air at the top (00:30) of the hour and at the bottom (:30:30) of the hour and will run One Minute. (:60).

Thursday, January 28th
We will provide ONE Status Report per hour at the bottom (:30:30) of the hour from 5:30:30AM ET through 11:30:30AM ET.

Status Reports will be fed on ABC 50.

Winter Olympic Games

ABC News Radio will have extensive coverage of the Winter Games in Vancouver, BC from Friday, February 12th through Sunday, February 27th.

ABC News Radio Correspondent Alex Stone will be in Vancouver to bring you all of the latest news and results.

ABC News Radio will provide two “Olympic Updates” per hour from Friday, February 12th through Sunday, February 27th.

These updates will air at :10 and :40 past the hour from 1:10PM ET through 11:40PM ET.

Each report runs One Minute (:60) in length and will provide results and features on the Winter Games.

“Olympic Update” will feed LIVE on ABC 50 and will be posted on the STATUS TAB of abcnewscall.com shortly after they air.

ABC Sports Radio will provide actuality, wraps, and natural sound of the Winter Games posted 24 hours a day on the SPORTS TAB of abcnewscall.com

Hope for Haiti

ABC News Radio is pleased to offer a simulcast of the “Hope for Haiti Now: A Benefit for Earthquake Relief” concert on Friday, January 22nd from 8:00PM - 10PM ET.

Here is a description of the event, courtesy of ABC Television:

"Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief," today announced its lineup of superstar musical performances. The global telethon will feature performances by Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys,Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna in a newly added London location. All musical performances will be available for purchase for $.99 per song through the Apple® iTunes® Store beginning Saturday, January 23rd, with all proceeds benefiting Haiti relief funds managed by "Hope for Haiti Now" charities.

In addition to musical performances, Wyclef Jean in New York City, George Clooney in Los Angeles, and CNN's Anderson Cooper reporting from Haiti, "Hope for Haiti Now" will feature more than one hundred of the biggest names in film, television, and music supporting the cause with testimonials and by answering phones during the telethon.

The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and United Nations World Food Programme have joined the list of relief organizations that will benefit from "Hope for Haiti Now," which also includes Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, and Yele Haiti Foundation. Proceeds from "Hope for Haiti Now" will be split evenly among each organization's individual funds for Haiti earthquake relief.

"Hope for Haiti Now" is produced by Joel Gallen and Tenth Planet Productions, in collaboration withViacom's MTV Networks and George Clooney.

Hope for Haiti Now” will feed LIVE from 8:00PM ET until 10:00PM ET on Friday, January 22nd in the following formats:

A MONO feed will be on ABC 53.
A STEREO feed will be available by accessing the “HOPE FOR HAITI NOW” program on your XDS receiver.

More details on the format of the program will be available shortly.
